Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern shares NZSL news with the world

The Prime Minister Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern has spotlighted international news site the Daily Moth, sharing news about NZSL week and the use of Sign Language in New Zealand.

While the staff at ODI can’t understand American Sign Language, we have been told that the site has referenced the use of NZSL Interpreters in the media and the work of Deaf Aotearoa.

The President of Deaf Aotearoa, Oliver Ferguson, has bought this to our attention.  The news has been picked up by the international Deaf community.  The video is being shared on Facebook.    Great to see NZ’s work promoting NZSL being shared internationally.

The YouTube Description of the Daily Moth:  The Daily Moth delivers news in video using American Sign Language. The Deaf host, Alex Abenchuchan, covers trending stories and Deaf topics with a twist of humor and Deaf culture. See http://www.dailymoth.com external for more information.
