Te Rōpū Kaitiaki is an advisory group for the NZSL Board to support the Board to understand how to improve outcomes for Turi Māori. The Turi Māori community has provided advice to Te Rōpū Kaitiaki and Whaikaha to help work out what projects need to be carried out. This is the action plan which is regularly reviewed.

Te Rōpū Kaitiaki members are appointed for a three year term and meet a minimum of four times a year. Those meetings talk about the action plan and meet with other organisations to help influence improved outcomes for Turi Māori. Te Rōpū Kaitiaki also works with the NZSL Board.
